BMW CleanEnergy - this is the innovative engine concept from BMW. Because mobility
with clean emissions and renewable energy sources is no longer merely a vision.
Water is the fundamental element of all life. Water accounts for approx. 71 % of the earth: all development of life begins in water. Multicellular beings came about through the cooperative merging of specialised cells - the faster way to further development. One element of life was abandoned in order to acquire a new one - in order to accelerate further development. also the energy store and guarantor of our future mobility. After all, this is not just about building cars: it is about taking on responsibility. An idea gains momentum.
 
Hydrogen will replace petrol. That is the BMW CleanEnergy idea. However, since hydrogen fuelling facilities are not widely available at the moment, the BMW CleanEnergy vehicles are fitted with a petrol tank in addition to the hydrogen tank. If one of the tanks is empty, the vehicle automatically switches to the other. This what is known as bivalent and it is the decisive advantage for the fast introduction of hydrogen vehicles.

hour burning hydrogen in a modified internal combustion engine.

WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J, Sept. 20 // -- BMW's Clean Energy
program produced a formidable winner this weekend. The BMW H2R set nine
international speed records for internal combustion powered vehicles using
hydrogen as a fuel at the Miramas high-speed Proving Grounds in France. BMW has
thus proven its conviction that hydrogen is able to replace conventional fuel
without any compromises in terms of performance and emissions.
